How does teleconsultation work with crew support?

TeleConsultations are video-based virtual appointments with a local, licensed clinical professional in the area you are calling from. They can be done without having to leave your current location; in the privacy of your room. These consultations are delivered in compliance with local health regulations and the doctors are permitted to prescribe remotely. Depending on location, prescription delivery is also available.

Does MedAire manage medical payments on behalf of crew members?

For clients with Crew Support, MedAire works with each airline or operator to establish a “Delegated Authority,” which enables us to manage and cover medical expenses on the crewmember’s behalf when required. This is a standard approach for many clients.

To provide this service, we agree an approval threshold with you in advance. MedAire will only authorise medical services within this agreed limit and will always contact you before approving any costs that exceed it. This ensures oversight is maintained, while enabling fast, seamless access to care for crew.
