Dubai, UAE – November 17, 2025 – On the opening day of Dubai Airshow 2025, EgyptAir signed a cooperation protocol with MedAire, an International SOS company and the aviation industry's proven leader for integrated travel health and aviation security solutions. The agreement strengthens EgyptAir's operational security capabilities and risk management framework.

As part of EgyptAir's participation in the 19th edition of Dubai Airshow 2025, held November 17-21, 2025, the protocol signing marks a significant milestone in advancing aviation security standards for one of the region's leading carriers.

The protocol was signed by Captain Ahmed Adel, Chairman of EgyptAir Holding Company, and Mr. Peter Tuggey, Managing Director of MedAire EMEA & APAC, in the presence of Major General Ismail Safwat, Head of Security at EgyptAir Holding Company; Mr. Hany Bakr, Senior Vice President for Aviation Security at MedAire; and senior executives from both organizations.

Strategic Partnership Objectives

This cooperation strengthens EgyptAir's capabilities across multiple dimensions:

  • Enhanced threat assessment and operational risk management
  • Improved compliance with international aviation safety and security standards
  • Increased readiness to address security challenges and operational emergencies at local and international levels
  • Elevated crisis management efficiency
  • Reduced unexpected operational costs
  • Support for EgyptAir's global market expansion plans
  • Reinforced competitive positioning

Leadership Perspectives

Captain Ahmed Adel emphasized that the protocol aligns with EgyptAir's strategy to reinforce security and safety across all operational activities. "Investing in the development of risk management and operational security capabilities is a fundamental pillar in maintaining EgyptAir's position as a leading national carrier and an active member of the global air transport network," he stated.

"The cooperation with MedAire—leveraging more than four decades of expertise—reflects our commitment to applying the latest international practices in aviation security," Captain Adel added. "This partnership will enhance workforce efficiency and improve our response and preparedness mechanisms for emergency events, ensuring passenger safety and continuity of efficient operations. We remain committed to keeping pace with global developments in security and safety and building strategic partnerships with leading organizations in this field."

Mr. Hany Bakr, Senior Vice President for Aviation Security at MedAire, commented: "This cooperation comes at a time when the global aviation sector is experiencing rapid transformations and increasing security challenges at regional and international levels, highlighting the critical importance of adopting advanced risk management solutions and enhancing airline readiness to confront emerging threats.

"At MedAire, we are proud to deepen our partnership with EgyptAir, a distinguished national entity with extensive experience in managing operational safety and security systems. EgyptAir's pivotal geographic position makes it a key player in connecting continents and facilitating air transport in one of the world's most security-sensitive regions.

"Our continued cooperation with EgyptAir reflects mutual trust and a shared vision for developing a safer and more resilient operational environment. It embodies MedAire's commitment to supporting our partners with innovative security solutions and timely, accurate intelligence to ensure the highest levels of protection and operational readiness. We are confident this protocol will strengthen EgyptAir's ability to confront future challenges and solidify its position as a regional and global leader."

Building on Established Partnership

The protocol signing reinforces the Memorandum of Understanding between the Arab Air Carriers' Organization (AACO) and MedAire to provide aviation security intelligence services to AACO members, supporting Arab airlines in assessing security risks and threats while ensuring the highest levels of protection and safety at all stages of operation.

MedAire's partnership with EgyptAir began in 2019, providing specialized consultancy services and risk assessments in conflict zones and during new route launches, in addition to delivering real-time security alerts and proactive solutions to address potential threats. MedAire currently supports more than 180 airlines worldwide.
