With a career spanning more than 30 years in the aviation industry, Richard Gomez is Senior Vice President of Product Development and Management - Worldwide at MedAire.
Richard's career started in 1986 as a flight attendant at America West Airlines, where he spent 22 years rising through the ranks to reach managerial positions. His next move took him to MedAire in 1997, where he served as Director of Education for an impressive eight years. Eager to broaden his experience, Richard assumed the role of VP of Aviation Training & Products Worldwide in 2005, leading MedAire's global training platform with expertise. He manages key regulatory areas, including EASA, FAA, CAA, AHA, ERC, and DOT, while developing and maintaining curricula for 15 certified medical training programs.
As the Product Owner of the company's integrated solutions that leverage technology and MedAire’s over 40 years of expertise and data, under his leadership, the company has continuously delivered innovations in next-generation risk management capabilities.
His product management approach emphasizes data-driven development, utilizing analytics from previous applications to refine feature sets and enhance the user experience. Richard ensures technical functionality across multiple platforms while maintaining seamless integration with MedAire's global response capabilities.
Richard is also a respected member of the Air Charter Safety Foundation (ACSF) Board of Governors. Since assuming the role of Secretary in 2017, his knowledge, experience, and leadership have played a crucial role in advancing the foundation's goals and upcoming initiatives. His background in aviation safety, training, and compliance with ISO 9001 standards has been extremely valuable to MedAire and the ACSF.
A graduate of Arizona State University, Richard Gomez's extensive professional experience and product development expertise make him a key leader in the aviation community. Under his guidance, MedAire clients have access to technology-enabled remote care solutions that support aviation professionals worldwide.
