Our sustainability activities reflect MedAire's mission, vision and values. As a pioneer in the aviation and yachting industries, we strive to be at the forefront of global change. Therefore, our sustainability vision goes above and beyond to cover Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG). Our actions are underpinned by concern for the wellbeing of our employees, our clients, our stakeholders, and the communities in which we operate. 

Our activities include:

  • Committing to UNGC’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
  • Alignment with the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). International SOS has been a signatory of the UNGC since 2013. We continue to firmly support the Ten Principles with respect to human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. Our own policies, operations and culture are closely aligned with the UNGC principles.
  • Supporting the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) - Our reporting is guided by these standards which are widely recognised as international best practice for ESG reporting. We are committed to advancing the central role of health and well-being within the corporate responsibility and ESG agenda.
  • Partnering with clients on community health initiatives to reduce Malaria, YAWs, HIV, tuberculosis and filariasis. We also promote clean water, wellness and healthy practices to prevent strokes, diabetes, infectious diseases and cancer in many communities worldwide.
  • Raising funds and donating time to support many Healthcare and Education causes worldwide.
  • Support for the International SOS Foundation, an independent, not-for-profit organisation that drives research and the development of best practice guidelines in health, safety and wellbeing for a global workforce.

Our ESG Commitments & Certifications
EcoVadis Bronze Award

MedAire achieved the EcoVadis Bronze Medal in 2024, reflecting our dedication to sustainability and responsible business practices. Our score places us in the 83rd percentile, demonstrating our sustainability performance is the same or better than 83% of companies evaluated. This score is based on a comprehensive assessment of factors beyond just environmental impact, including labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. NBAA Sustainable Flight Department Accreditation

MedAire received accreditation from the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) in 2023 through their Sustainable Flight Department Accreditation Program. MedAire's operator without aircraft to receive this certification. This program identifies business aviation entities that meet exceptional environmental sustainability standards and fosters a sustainability culture within the business aviation community. Our Commitment to the United Nations Global Compact
MedAire's ESG efforts are aligned with international initiatives and frameworks, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). Furthermore, we are proud to participate in the following UNGC initiatives: CEO Statement of Support for the Women’s Empowerment Principles, Statement from Business Leaders for Renewed Global Cooperation, Letter to the Australian government encouraging United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) consideration for Australia’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, Participant of the Target Gender Equality programme and participant of the SDG Ambition Accelerator programme.

  • Reducing carbon emissions from facilities and operations by 15% by 2026 
  • Achieving a 30% reduction in waste to landfills from operations by 2026 
  • Reducing water usage by 10% by 2024
  • Achieving a 20% reduction in waste to landfill by 2024
  • Implementing a water management plan that reduces water usage by 15% by 2026
  • Achieving 40% sustainable sourcing for critical materials and services by 2026, including at least one carbon-neutral product 

Future Goals:

  • Reducing carbon emissions from facilities and operations by 30% by 2033 
  • Achieving zero waste to landfill from operations by 2033 
  • Reducing water usage by 30% by 2033 through the implementation of a water management plan
  • Achieving 100% sustainable sourcing for critical materials and services by 2033, modifying existing products and creating new solutions to ensure zero carbon emissions by 2050
