CAREERS @ MEDAIRE

During a flight, have you ever heard, "are there any doctors on board?" Or worse, had your flight diverted due to an emergency? It is common for medical emergencies to occur in the sky, just as they do on the ground. However, the likelihood of experiencing an in-flight medical emergency is much higher than the average person might think. Did you know that MedAire's Global Response Centre receives roughly 300 calls every day? The most common medical case types include gastrointestinal, neurological, musculoskeletal, infectious/communicable, and respiratory illnesses. MedAire News

London, November 24 2021. MedAire today announced the official launch of their new EU fulfilment centre, located in Rotterdam, Netherlands, partnered with medical supplier to the marine industry, Seafarma.

The expansion from a UK fulfilment centre to also include a European base, will better serve MedAire Yachting clients receiving medication to EU locations, resulting in faster shipping times, competitive pricing and no customs or brokerage fees.

Steven Bates, MedAire General Manager says that “the smooth set-up and running of our new fulfilment centre is not only supported by the dedication and determination of the MedAire Yachting team, but also by Seafarma who are experts in supplying medication to many different sectors within the maritime industry”.

Bates also adds that “We chose to partner with Seafarma as we were greatly impressed by the team and their strict adherence to quality assurance processes to ensure regulatory compliance. Our clients can be assured that they will receive the same high level of service when receiving an order through Seafarma”.

To date over 180 clients have already received medical kits, medication and other supplies from Seafarma.

Friso Janssen, Seafarma Co-owner, comments “as a supplier to some of the world’s leading chandlers, oil rigs, cruise ships and shipping companies, we are well placed to understand the specific needs of the maritime community, whether that’s changing itineraries or keeping to strict delivery dates before the vessel continues its journey. We are delighted to partner with MedAire and look forward to developing our relationship”.

MedAire customers will continue to receive medication from the closest fulfilment centre to their cruising locations with a global reach that includes the U.S., the UK, Australia and now the Netherlands.
