What is a Direct Billing Agreement (DBA)?
A DBA is a special arrangement between your yacht's insurance company and MedAire.
Under this agreement and with the approval of all parties involved, MedAire can directly bill your insurer for covered medical expenses within cases that require shoreside attention. This can greatly save you time and effort.

- Cost efficiency: By engaging MedAire early and allowing us to manage the case from the onset of symptoms, we can potentially help avoid escalation (75% of our cases are resolved onboard).

How to Set Up a DBA
MedAire may be able to set up a DBA with your insurer.
The following steps below offer a guideline about the process:
- Request: Send a request to MedAire and your insurer to establish a DBA.
- Approval: The insurer may issue an amendment to the insurance policy to reflect the DBA.
- Coordination: MedAire may coordinate a meeting with all parties to discuss and agree upon procedures.
- Implementation: MedAire drafts and implements an operational procedure approved by each party.
