    Sea Urchin

    HOW WOULD I USE THE SERVICE?

    Scenario #1 - Stepping on a sea urchin

    Paddling off the beach, Chris stands on a sea urchin and has around 20 spines in his right foot. The cove they are anchored in is approximately 45minutes away from the nearest marina.

    • Chris calls MedAire and speaks with a member of the medical team
    • The doctor advises soaking the foot and prescribes pain relief from onboard medical supplies.
    • An appointment is arranged at a MedAire approved provider for Chris to have the spines removed by a medical professional, once they reach port.
    Jellyfish-sting

    HOW WOULD I USE THE SERVICE?

    Scenario #2 - Jellyfish sting

    Ella was stung by a jelly fish while snorkelling, she is a 5 minutes tender ride from the boat - in a lot of pain

    • Her father calls MedAire but has no medication available
    • The Doctor suggests using the warm water spurting from the outboard to ease the pain
    • By the time Ella reaches the yacht, the pain has subsided.
    • Pictures are sent to the medical team via our App and further treatment suggested, using items from their medical kit.
