22 September 2021, Phoenix - MedAire - Leading superyacht medical assistance provider and CRS Yachts, insurance provider dedicated entirely to the superyacht industry, today announced the signing of a Direct Billing Agreement (DBA) to facilitate the process for crew and guests to receive shoreside medical treatment. The DBA allows MedAire to invoice CRS Yachts for covered services, instead of invoicing customers directly, reducing administration and providing a full integrated experience.
MedAire recently revealed that when customers call into their assistance service, 3 out of 4 calls are resolved onboard, without incurring any additional costs. On the occasion that further shoreside treatment is required, MedAire can refer customers to one of their approved and validated medical providers, which may incur additional costs that require their insurer’s approval.
By setting up a DBA between the two companies, MedAire can now manage the case from the initial call made by the client and liaise directly with CRS Yachts, in the Verification of Benefits process.
Steven Bates, General Manager at MedAire says that “MedAire and CRS Yachts work with many shared clients across the superyacht industry and signing a Direct Billing Agreement is a natural progression in our relationship. Shared customers will now have one direct point of contact at MedAire who can manage all the case logistics on their behalf, such as making the Guarantee of Payment when arranging the appointment, or invoicing CRS Yachts directly, instead of the vessel.”
Simon Ballard, Managing Director at CRS Yachts adds that “The new collaboration between MedAire and our Crew Welfare policy Sanctum Health allows our companies to assist shared clients in a seamless way in the event of a medical emergency, the ‘One Call’ approach will remove some of the stress involved for these clients and improve the customer experience, wherever they are in the world”
If you’re a shared customer of MedAire and CRS Yachts, please contact your Account Manager, to request to be added to the DBA.
