MedAire in Central Europe

Global medical, security and travel risk service provider MedAire, an International SOS company, has widened its infrastructure and service offering in Central Europe. Recent expansion into Frankfurt allows the company to offer medical and security assistance in German for those clients who prefer to engage with MedAire in their native language. Additionally, a partnership with Römer-Apotheke in Frankfurt has strengthened their medical kit assembly and fulfilment services in the region.

For more than 30 years, MedAire has been providing aviation specific integrated safety solutions including medical and security assistance, medical kits and life-saving equipment and crew medical training. The company serves more than 3500 business aviation aircraft and 150 airlines. While the majority of clients utilise English language services as the aviation standard, the company has extensive language capabilities and offers assistance service delivery based on individual client needs.

Earlier this year MedAire expanded their aviation services in Central Europe with in-flight and on the ground medical assistance in native-language German through the International SOS assistance centre in Frankfurt. The company also provides crew medical training as part of an integrated solution in both English and German, in partnership with Medifan, the aviation crew medical training experts. MedAire provided over 500,000 medical kits last year to both commercial and business aviation clients.

The company utilises more than three decades of medical event data compiled from MedAire’s MedLink service and an expert panel of aviation medical, regulatory, and operational experts to drive the optimum development of medical kits. Kits are reviewed annually to ensure the contents continue to meet the needs of the customer, regulatory revisions are met, and new medications for client health and cost-containment. MedAire is also now working with pharmacy Römer-Apotheke in Frankfurt, a longtime partner of Medifan and Mash Gmbh, to ensure compliance with Pharmaceutical
regulation in the region, enabling a complete medical safety solution integrated with crew medical training and 24/7 assistance services.

“We have expanded in Germany to offer our aviation safety and risk mitigation solutions to our central European clients. In addition to our newly expanded medical kit capabilities and partnership with Römer-Apotheke, MedAire offers localised native language solutions for airlines and business aviation customers, including 24/7 in-flight assistance, on-the-ground crew medical support and travel security services serviced out of our Frankfurt assistance centre.” Said Steven Bates, Managing Director for Europe.

International SOS and MedAire received the ISO certification in 2015, recognising the organisation’s commitment to quality of care and compliance with stringent ISO/TS 13131 measures.
