When medical events occur, members can immediately call, radio or e-mail MedLink. Doctors will help first responders assess medical events, advise on medical conditions and keep situations from escalating by using medications and supplies from your onboard kits.
All communications will be recorded and documented within our case management system. This protocol allows us to provide the captain with follow-up as well as continuously refine our processes, training, medical kits and member services.
As a member, you will receive a specified number of membership cards and a single phone number to access all services. Depending on the type of case, whether at sea or on shore, MedAire will seamlessly manage the event, and if necessary, coordinate with International SOS to manage a successful outcome. Together, we will maintain and monitor communications, keeping the captain informed of all developments.
Members will receive the following benefits when traveling away from home:
- 24/7 access to doctors
- Access to medical service providers
- Outpatient case management
- Assistance with documentation for insurance claim forms
- Medical evacuation and repatriation
- Companion ticket
- transportation of minor children
- Additional travel after medical evacuation
- Repatriation of mortal remains
- Medical expense guarantee, cost review and payment, medical monitoring
- Dispatch of medication and medical supplies
