Through MedAire's tiered system of kits, operators are able to select the type of medical supplies necessary for any voyage and can meet regulations set forth by the Maritime Coastguard Agency (MCA).

MedAire's medical and first aid kits are specially designed for the environment in which they will be deployed. All meet and exceed any and all applicable US federal regulations.

The kits are designed by emergency response professionals, with a specific focus on ease of use during likely Medical situations. Supplies are separated into special airway, bandaging, assessment and medication pouches. Each easily removable nylon pouch has a plastic window and is color coded for quick identification during stressful situations.

MedAire offers different levels of kits for different situations, including:

Ship-to-Shore -- A lightweight, durable first aid kit to be kept in the tender. Included in the kit are a wide range of supplies for tending to minor burns, cuts, scrapes, headaches and upset stomachs as well as personal protective equipment.

First Responder Kit -- Contains the supplies necessary to stabilize an injured person. As a grab and go kit, it is meant as your first line of defense for treating the full range of likely emergencies. The kit is organized with color-coded, see-through window pouches for quick selection of appropriate items. For anyone trained in first aid, this kit is a true confidence builder.

Advanced Medical Kit -- A working kit for attending to a severely sick or injured person once they have been stabilized. It contains everything from sutures to injectables. This kit is most effectively utilized when supported by a telemedicine link to MedLink doctors who specialize in remote care. The kit is meant to complement the First-Responder kit and is not sold separately.

Ship's Medicine Chest -- This kit is designed for restocking the smaller kits as well as holding the large quantities of IV solution and bulk medication and dressings.

Maritime Upgrade Kits -- MedAire offers kit enhancements that allow operators to meet regulations set forth by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA).

Pediatric Supplemental Rx Kit - Designed to complement the First Responder Kit, the Pediatric Supplemental Rx kit is dedicated to the care of children under the age of 12. The kit contains over-the-counter and prescription pediatric medications – such as Pediacare cough syrup, oral gel for babies, infant gas relief drops, Amoxicillin and Epinephrine – as well as pediatric blood pressure cuffs, thermometers and other medical devices.

Controlled Substance
Disposal

Is your vessel properly discarding its expired or unwanted controlled substances? The U.S. Federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) recommends that, to ensure proper disposal of controlled substances, vessels should enlist the services of a reverse distributor. A DEA registered reverse distributor has a special code under which they can record the receipt of expired or outdated controlled substances from a vessel before disposal.

Because MedAire is legally unable to dispose of controlled substances, we are required to return these shipments back to the sender. Upon disposal, MedAire recommends that you complete the Destruction of Controlled Substances form and FAX to +1.623.581.9022 or mail to MedAire, 23610 N. 20th Drive, Suite 10, Phoenix, AZ 85085.
