New! Does your AED comply with revised AHA CPR guidelines? (Click here for more information)

MedAire offers a complete solution for equipping and training crewmembers on AED use.

MedAire has placed more automated external defibrillators (AEDs) on aircraft and ships, and trained more flight crews in the use of the equipment than any other company in the world – even more than the defibrillator manufacturers themselves. MedAire has long been an active proponent in making the equipment available to non-medical professionals who, by choice or by happenstance, are typically called upon to be first responders in medical situations.

All statistics show that the more remote the situation, the more critical the need for an AED. The chances of survival for a person suffering ventricular fibrillation are virtually zero, unless they receive a shock from an AED within 10 minutes of fibrillation. For every minute that goes by after fibrillation without an AED, the chance of survival drops by 10 percent. So, if the cardiac event happens onboard an aircraft, a ship or on a mountaintop, a person’s only chance for survival is an AED, and someone who knows how to use it, being close at hand.

But there’s more to an AED than just the box.

In fact, it is a prescriptive device, requiring a qualified physician’s prescription in order to be purchased. Plus there needs to be medical control over the equipment’s use as well. In working with MedAire, all of these requirements are automatically taken care for customers. And rather than just a product orientation, MedAire provides clients with full AED training and complete quality assurance services.
