Hangar Safety Training

Designed for Aviation Maintenance Professionals

Hazardous materials and heavy machinery --- they are a natural part of the hangar environment. If an accident
occurs, it’s likely to be serious. Is your maintenance crew prepared? Do they know what they should do to minimize
injury and prevent damage?

Be Prepared
Preparation starts with MedAire’s two-day Hangar Safety
training program that establishes baseline industry
standards where, today, there are none. Our awareness
training is designed for aviation maintenance
professionals who are exposed daily to work hazards in the
hangar setting. This course prepares students to recognize,
prevent and respond to sudden medical emergency
situations commonly occurring in confined environments.

Benefits You Can Count On

1. Access hands-on, practical medical training with course material adapted to the hangar environment.

2. Recognize, prevent and respond to sudden medical emergency situations commonly occurring in hangar environments.

3. Earn a U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10-hour course completion card and fulfills OSHA General Industry Requirements such as:
• Hazard Communication
• Hazardous Material
• Electrical Safety
• Personal Protective Equipment
• Walking and Working Surfaces
• Means of Egress and Fire Protection
• Noise Exposure

4. Know your medical equipment, where to find it in the hangar and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED).

5. Earn certification from the American Heart Association (AHA). Unlike other training providers, MedAire’s instruction includes AED and CPR modules audited by the AHA.

6. Participate in a hypothetical medical situation during a test call so you’ll be comfortable speaking with a doctor at MedAire’s MedLink Global Response Center if, and when, a real emergency arises.

7. Take advantage of training in the hangar using your own equipment or choose from fixed-based classes at select FlightSafety International and SimuFlite training centers.

8. Learn directly from aviation and emergency medical professionals who understand both the aircraft and hangar environment.

9. Gain peace of mind with a company that’s been in
business for more than 20 years and is ISO 9001:2000 certified.
