STCW 95 MCA Medical Training
Offered at MCA-approved fixed-base locations or on board Red Ensign vessels, MedAire’s STCW 95 MCA medical courses teach crew how to respond to common at-sea medical events: drowning, poisoning, fractures, spinal injuries, burns, hypothermia and cold exposure. They also provide CPR and automated external defibrillator (AED) instruction, as well as Basic Life Support. Flexible course offerings include the initial one-day course, Elementary First Aid, and the comprehensive three-day Proficiency in Medical First Aid class.

STCW 95 refers to the Standards of Training, Certification & Watchkeeping Convention, an international body that, in 1995, set higher, more stringent standards for mariners. The Maritime Coastguard Agency (MCA) is an agency under the United Kingdom government that aims to enhance the safety record for vessels of Red Ensign countries, including the Isle of Man, Cayman Islands, Bermuda, Gibraltar, Anguilla, British Virgin Islands, Falkland Islands, Guernsey, Jersey, Montserrat, St. Helena and the Turks, and Caicos Islands.
