| MedAire Invited to Host Workshops at Bombardier Safety Standdown | |||||||||||||||||
NBAA Orlando, Oct. 6, 2008 – “Hands-on” will take on new meaning Oct. 20 at the 2008 Bombardier Safety Standdown in Kansas City, Mo. - especially for those attendees who select the safety workshops being provided by international remote medical care provider MedAire Inc. Invited to participate for the second consecutive year, MedAire will encourage learners to “practice-by-doing” in the three workshops its medical personnel are hosting. Students will use a portable Mini-Anne Learning Manikin, operate actual remote medical monitoring devices and use real suturing and splinting supplies. “Participants in our training sessions will use actual equipment on the aircraft – cementing their knowledge and preparing them for the day when a real in-flight emergency does occur on board,” said Richard Gomez, MedAire’s vice president, Education Services & Quality. “We’re honored to have been invited back for such an important event that meshes so well with our own safety and preparedness mission.” At this year’s Safety Standdown, attendees can choose from two of three MedAire’s training options:
The Safety Standdown, co-sponsored by the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board, also includes a three-day general session, Oct. 21-23, highlighting speakers from the FAA, NBAA and NASA, among others. Leading physicians, academicians and executives will also share health and safety insights. For additional information, visit: www.safetystanddown.com.
